Or you may cruise along the Bosphorus for a unique perspective of the city’s numerous seaside mansions, mosques and palaces.
Apr 13 Fri Mykonos, Greece Today, this island is one of Greece’s most adored destinations due to its picture- postcard setting and growing nightlife. Mykonos is a superb example of Cycladic architecture, and by law even new buildings have to be built in the same style of whitewashed, organic, cube-like buildings. Be sure to plan a day trip to take in picturesque Little Venice, the unique Paraportiani church, and the archeological dig at Delos.
Apr 14 Sat Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey Originally a minor port, Kusadasi now serves as the gateway to Ephesus, one of the ancient world’s largest and most important archaeological and religious sites. As you walk the white marbled pathway, note the grooves made by centuries of chariot wheels. Sacred places nearby include the Basilica of St. John and the House of the Virgin Mary.
Apr 15 Sun Santorini, Greece Visit Ancient Akrotiri, the archeological site of a town frozen in time by ash from an eruption 3,600 years ago. Also worth a day trip is the Volcano of Santorini Palea (old) Kameni and Nea (new) Kameni , two small islands of black lava positioned in the centre of the basin of Santorini.
Apr 16 Mon Olympia (Katakolon), Greece Katakolon is gateway to ancient Olympia, the chief sanctuary of Zeus. After many centuries of competition which began as early as the eighth century BC, the panhellenic festival was created in 776 AD. Ancient competitions included boxing, wrestling, running, jumping, and the discus throw. It is still honored with the Olympics Games every four years. The ancient site of Olympia is also home to the Temple of Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Apr 17 Tue Taormina (Sicily), Italy Naxos is gateway to the island of Sicily’s strategically significant northeastern region. Highlights of any tour of this city would include the remarkably preserved Roman-style Greek Theater, whose acoustics are still appreciated in performances today; the splendid 15th century Palazzo Corvaia; and the Odeon, a small Imperial Age theater set amidst colorful public gardens.
Apr 18 Wed Sorrento/Capri, Italy Sorrento is surely one of the world’s most beautiful towns, built on a coast with breathtaking views and landscapes. This afternoon, enjoy a casual scenic cruising along the Danube River or take an optional Danube Gorge excursion. Travel by road to Kelheim and board a ferryboat to the Danube Gorge´s dramatic scenery and spectacular 400 foot chalk cliffs.

Visit Weltenburg Abbey, renowned for the dark ale brewed here by monks since 1050, then rejoin your ship in Kelheim in time for dinner aboard.

Danube river cruises

Day 7 Main-Danube Canal & Nuremberg
This morning, you sail through a number of locks that comprise the Main-Danube Canal, an engineering marvel stretching 106 miles from Bamberg on the Main River to Kelheim on the Danube. Begun as Charlemagne´s dream in 793, it was completed in 1992 with 16 locks that raise the water level 1,332 feet.

Today it enables river travel from the North Sea to the Black Sea. Arrive during breakfast in Nuremberg, Bavaria´s second largest city.

Your tour features the former Nazi parade grounds and the Palace of Justice, historic home of the Nuremberg Trials. You have a brief stop at the Court House before returning to the Old Town area enclosed by ancient city walls.

Apr 3, Sunday Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Embraced by rugged tropical mountains on one side and the beautiful Banderas Bay on the other, Puerto Vallarta is second only to Acapulco when it comes to the Mexican Riviera. White stucco houses are capped with red-tile roofs and surrounded by bougainvillea-lined cobblestone streets.

Nearby, sophisticated restaurants, luxury hotels, smart boutiques and lively nightclubs bear testament to the changes wrought on this quiet seaside city since the 1960s. Life here has never been quite the same since the filming of the movie "Night of the Iguana" and the worldwide publicity accorded the romance of its stars, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Puerto Vallarta brims with life. Explore cobblestone streets and picturesque alleyways filled with the scents and bustling energy of Mexico.

Apr 4, Monday Mazatlán, Mexico The massive lighthouse of El Faro welcomes you to the thriving seaport of Mazatlán. Located on a peninsula just south of the Tropic of Cancer, this fast-developing resort is a fishing and sportsperson's paradise. Supposedly there are as many fishing boats as tennis courts here! Offshore, scores of sailfish and marlin frolic in the temperate waters while para-sailors drift lazily overhead. Mazatlán offers a rich diversity of activities. Feel free to shop at the colorful market and folk art shops, explore the charming town plaza, relax at a fine resort hotel or try your luck sportfishing.
Apr 5, Tuesday Loreto, Mexico

Sitting on the east coast of Baja, Loreto provides all the diversions of a small, seafront town, including diving, kayaking and fishing. There is also a chance to play a game of tennis at the Tennis Center or a round of golf on the greens carpeting a special spot by the Sea of Cortez.

Then there is the excursion of boating five miles from shore to the Islas Coronado, where you can spot sea lions basking in the sun. All these features make Loreto an appealing destination on Crystal Cruises.

Loreto was founded in 1697 as the head of the Jesuit missions to California and for 130 years, served as the territory's capital. Stop in the original mission church and wander through the small museum next door and learn more about Baja's missionary history.

Apr 6, Wednesday La Paz, Mexico

Cradled between the stark sands of Baja and the fertile waters of the Sea of Cortez, La Paz offers a host of challenging opportunities. Dubbed "the World´s largest fish trap," the area is home to over 800 species of fish and 2,000 species of invertebrates. Giant manta rays and whales navigate the depths while dolphins and sea lions frolic on the surface.

Deep sea fishing, diving and sightseeing boats are available for charters.

Apr 7, Thursday Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas is nestled on the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula, where the cool currents of the Pacific Ocean meet the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez. Commanding rock formations, timeless desert and a translucent sea provide a compelling introduction to this tranquil resort town.

Here, mile upon mile of golden sandy coves dot the shoreline while marlin and sailfish frolic in the waters offshore. Laze on a deserted beach, explore the undersea world or discover bustling shops and markets for tempting treasures such as silver, jewelry and wooden sculptures.

Apr 9, Saturday San Diego, California, USA

From the old Gas Lamp Quarter to the Horton Plaza, named after the former owner of the present city area, San Diego combines history with progress.

Bordered on one side by the graceful Pacific Ocean lapping its shores and the hot desert plains on the other, this magical city is a festive and colorful attraction for tourists and locals. Close by lies graceful La Jolla, Spanish for the jewel, and Solana Beach, a beach community located near charming Del Mar.

Whether you venture into Old Town, the original site of this city, or one of its gorgeous parks, you'll come to understand why San Diego has established itself as one of the most popular destinations in the United States.
