DAY 1 – February 19th

DAY 2 - February 20th

Welcome to the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro where you will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel. After an orientation brief, you will be given the rest of the day free for your leisure.

You will be to walk along the beach, do some shopping of handcraft items in one of the local markets or shops, or just relax in the exotic and fabulous atmosphere that is Rio de Janeiro.

DAY 3 - February 21st

Today is the first official day of Carnival!

After an enjoyable breakfast, you will delight in a morning, panoramic city tour, passing by the Maracana (soccer stadium), the Sambódromo (where the samba schools parade during carnival), the São Sebastião Cathedral, Cinelandia Square and Flamengo Park. Proceeding to the enchanting Urca district, we will ride the cable car up to Sugar Loaf for a spectacular view of the city and its dozens
of beaches. Rest of the day free for personal activities.

During the afternoon you can enjoy an explosion of colors and happiness, with the street block parties, where you will find the true Carioca Carnival Spirit!” You can start with Sa Ferreira street band near your hotel or the Carlinhos de Jesus street block party, led by a famous dancer and teacher, in the Botafogo district. Your guide will let you know where everything is and how you can take advantage of it all!

At night, go to the Copacabana Palace Hotel and participate in its Luxury Ball full of exotic charm, fantasy and sophistication. Costumes or tuxedo is required. If you have interest, please contact us as tickets are available only upon pre-request.

DAY 4 - February 22nd

After a hearty buffet breakfast the day, you will embark on your way to see the stupendous Sugar Loaf Mountains. Located in the heart of the city, these two mountains are reached on suspended air car and give you the best views possible of the Guanabara Bay and the strip at Copacabana.

It’s amazing! In the afternoon, you will be free to explore more of Rio. Rio is full of parks, eco-activities, shopping, or opportunities for just relaxing and taking in the old colonial charms of the city.

Tonight however, you will want to think Brazilian Samba!!!!! This is the first night of the Samba Schools Parade for a Special Group and it is really worthwhile for you to go and enjoy it!

DAY 5 – February 23rd

After a delicious tropical buffet breakfast, you will be free to explore some of the city’s most vibrant beaches and enchanting sea-side board-walks. Shops, Restaurants, Boutiques, and Jewelers combine for a fun day in the city that never sleeps.

During the afternoon, the street bands continue making their wonderful music at various parties throughout the city. In Copacabana, around 4:00pm, you can join the street band Banda da Sá Ferreira and have a great time throughout the evening.

The fun and fantasy continues at the second night of the Samba Schools Parade or the Skol Ball at the Scala. Bring your dancing shoes and plenty of energy!

DAY 6 – February 24th

After a heart break tropical breakfast, the day is yours for more exotic leisure. Your guide however will be happy to assist you in selecting various options for the day as there are so many fun and exciting this to do in and around the city of Rio!

There are also more street bands performing through the districts of Copacabana and Ipanema all afternoon. If you like walking, you can go from one street party to another in your neighborhood and make brief stops for refreshments and snacks.

At night you have a choice of various balls and parties, the main one is the Unique Scala Gay in the Leblon district. Undoubtedly this is the most fashionable ball of Rio! Overnight at your chosen hotel.

DAY 7 – February 25th

After your amazing tropical breakfast, and some free time transfer to the International airport for your afternoon or evening return flight…you will be exhausted probably but you will always remember your Carnival experience in fabulous Rio de Janeiro!!!

DAY 4

In the afternoon, you can explore the island by sea, sometimes you can take even see the multitude of parrots, toucans, sloths, that this island is famous for, and quite often, you can even swim with the dolphins that like to trail along side the boat to play with its human passengers. Day 5
After a nice island breakfast, enjoy your day to relax on one of the islands many beaches or scuba dive or snorkel the coral reefs, or maybe even trek to the exotic interior of the island through well posted eco-trails.

You can even visit the old fortress/prison where pirates and political enemies were imprisoned so many years ago. Overnight in Ilha Grande.

Day 6
After another wonderful breakfast, pass the morning at your leisure. In the afternoon, we will leave the island by boat and find the mainland again. From here, we venture back to the Marvelous City of Rio de Janeiro.  Overnight in Rio de Janeiro!

In the early afternoon we next travel a few hours north of the city of Rio and arrive in the exciting seaside resort town of Buzios.

In Darwin’s footsteps on Santa Cruz Island Head for the inland highlands on Santa
Cruz Island, as well as the craters of Los Gemelos and a Scalesia forest.

Meet giant tortoises and observe a wide variety of flora – such as the giant
prickly-pear cactus – and fauna at the Charles Darwin Research Station, where
you’ll also learn about the history of the islands.

Day 12: Cruising aboard Isabela II, Galapagos Islands

Birds galore on Tower Island Land by panga in a lovely natural habor on Tower
Island to view thousands of incredible birds – including large colonies of frigate
birds, storm petrels, Nazca boobies and many more.

In most cases, the birds and animals of the Galapagos are unafraid of humans,
so you can get right up close to them.

Cross the Equator to Isabela and Fernandina Cross the Equator aboard Isabela II
today en route to Isabela and Fernandina, the youngest of the Galapgos Islands
(they’re only about 5 to 10 million years old).

Arrive at Isabela’s Tagus Cove to see Darwin Crater; you’ll also have an opportunity
to do some snorkeling, as well as view Sally Lightfoot crabs, marine iguanas and
sea lions on Fernandina.

More wonders on James and Bartolomé Islands Stroll across the ancient lava flows

Next is the quintessential Vermont village of Woodstock with its picturesque covered bridge.

There is time to stroll the quaint streets before heading for Stowe for a two-night stay. It was the breathtaking alpine setting that attracted the Von Trapp family, of The Sound of Music fame, when they arrived from Austria in the late 40’s and built their fabulous hideaway.

Day 4 - Taste of Vermont Excusion

Enjoy beautiful rural scenery ablaze with fall colours and views of Vermont’s tallest peak, Mount Mansfield. Visit Cold Hollow Apple Cider Mill and taste fresh cider in the making, then sample flavours of a different kind on a guidedtour of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory.

Learn all about cheese-making at the Cabot Creamery and nibble on the “World’s Best Cheddar.” Return to the charming town of Stowe where the rest of the day is free to wander the quaint streets, hike in the woods, or enjoy the lodge’s amenities. (B)

Day 5 - Stowe - North Conway

Visit Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks and taste a Vermont tradition: “sugar on snow” - maple syrup served with a donut and pickle! Next, head for New Hampshire’s White Mountains and enter Franconia Notch. Get your cameras at the ready as you ride the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway for panoramic vistas over New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, New York, and Canada.

Then journey through the dazzling crimson and orange hues of the famed Kancamagus Scenic Byway to North Conway. After dinner, enjoy an interpretive presentation by a naturalist on the North Woods’ wildlife and ecology. Hotel: North Conway Grand Hotel (B,D)

Day 6 - White Mountains Excursion

Another morning of brilliant fall foliage colours as you journey through Crawford Notch. Stop for pictures at the beautiful Silver Cascade Waterfall and Breton Woods offering stunning views of Mount Washington, the tallest peak in the northeast at 6,288 ft. Back in North Conway, the afternoon is yours.

Explore the township, join your Tour Director on a walk through the woods, or shop at the tax-free outlet stores near the hotel. (B)

Day 7 - North Conway - Portsmouth

Leaving New Hampshire’s glorious fall foliage, enter the deep green pine forests of western Maine. At charming Kennebunkport, enjoy the scenic drive along Ocean Drive with stunning views of the Maine coastline and the palatial homes of Kennebunkport’s rich and famous, including the summer retreat of President George H.W. Bush.

There is time to browse the many galleries and shops, or walk along the waterfront before continuing on to the charming and historic port city of Portsmouth. Late afternoon, head for the seaside village of York and watch the sun set at Nubble Lighthouse, followed by a traditional “lobsta” dinner served at a delightful beach restaurant. Private Car Transfer Rates

Jamaica Inn’s private car transfer rates are changing for travel beginning December 15 2008.
Montego Bay Airport - US $125.00 per car each way (maximum of 4 persons)
Kingston Airport - US $180.00 per car each way (maximum of 4 persons)

These costs are the same costs we offer to the client directly. They are non-commissionable. You can book them with us & include the cost in the booking or you can ask us to bill the clients’ room for the amount.

2. Summer Rate Extension

Jamaica Inn’s Summer Room Rates due to end December 14 2008 are now extended for Travel until December 19 2008. This offer is valid for room rates only as the Winter Meal plan rates still begin starting December 15 2008. This is applicable to new bookings only.
